Dear OTI Member, January 25, 2010
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and you're looking forward to a great 2010.
Below is some club business that is being sent to all members, past and present. Of course, a paper copy will be sent to these members without email.
DUES:
2010 yearly dues of $35.00 are due and payable. We would like to get all the dues paid up as soon as possible; this will allow us to publish an up to date roster by the end of April and then focus on the upcoming symposium.
The OTI web site has a PayPal dues system which is very convenient and easy to use. Here is a link to that page: http://www.ornamentalturners.org/Info/membership.html

Steve and Jon are lining up speakers relating to our art form. If you would like to be a speaker please contact Steve White or Jon Sauer for further information.
The symposium fee will be $220.00 for current (dues-paid) members. After Aug. 15, 2010 the fee will be $260.00. Add $35.00 if your spouse will be attending the banquet.
More Symposium information will be forthcoming in a few months.
NEWSLETTER:
We have a new newsletter editor. Stuart Dimond has agreed to take over the editor job and is already working on the next edition. Stuart can be contacted at: OTIEditor@gmail.com.
Stuart has done both wood and metal work and is interested in all aspects of Ornamental Turning: its history, the lathes and their design and construction, and the work produced by contemporary turners. He hopes to publish articles about all these aspects in the newsletter. If there is something you would like to see in the newsletter, let Stuart know. If you have an article you would like to contribute he will be glad to help you get it into publishable form.
Regards,
Jim Hillebrecht
